So my friend changed there number
I updated there contact info

When I go to text them and type there name by composing a new text it shows the new number I added and the old one even thou the old one is not in the contacts ?

How do you clear it out ?

All my contacts are synced with iCloud

I assume its remembering it somehow but not sure how

You have to go to your contacts from your phone and then find the name with the number you want and then click the name then edit and then delete the number.

When go to text them it shows the new and the old and sometime I text the old by mistake

If I deleted the number it shouldn't show it when I type there name it's like it's in memory but not from my contacts

Not sure how to get rid of it, but Messages is sound the same thing as most email programs do and remembering everyone and every number you contacted, not just the contact record itself.

You know even if you didn't get AppleCare, I see that you have an iPhone 5. Since all phones get 90 days of tech support and we are still within that range why don't you give them a call? I'd be curious what the answer was myself (for remembered email and messages).

I don't think there is a way to remove recent numbers that pop up when you SMS, shy of a restore. It's a PITA.

Nice. I did restore once when I went to 6.1b2 and it didn't change battery life though, so a restore won't necessarily screw up yours. It's a risk though.....lol.

Ya if it was a bigger issue I might risk it but for this minor thing it's not worth the risk lol
I did load beta iOS 6 when I had my 4s but stayed out of all the beta loop this time around unless its something cool like new features maybe ill do iOS 7 beta lol

Mine does this too. I even deleted the entire contact and re-entered it to no avail.
