People/faces album not showing total amounts for each face on iOS 10.3

While using the people album in photos on iOS 10.3 I have noticed a change for each face merged it doesn't give a total amount for each face. In iOS 10.2.1 etc. It would give a total amount for each face

For example person a face would have 300 below their face. And person b would have 400 for example below it

But that seems to have disappeared in the new iOS version

It doesn't neither be and I think is a better change but just wondering anyone else seeing this and why did Apple do this

Yes it's gone but I don't know if it was intentional or unintentional.

You didn't know either, did you? It's not in the blog. Lots of "how to" though. But I had already figured all that out. Just don't know what the numbers Sam is fussing about represents.

I did know. But I couldn't describe it properly. It's almost 6 am in the morning and I took a shortcut in explaining

The numbers used to appear under the persons in People, letting you know how many photos of that person there are.

It says I have 3 pictures of you. But there's only one on my camera roll of you. And one is too many.

I found them. I had 2 of you and Trump that you weren't visible in.

personally I'm happy I wanted this from day 1 and ive seen and friends too different amounts showing on each device for one persons face even though same faces for each person on each device. Maybe thats why. Im happy anyway

Yeah I was almost gonna blame you for this change in People.
It's rather confusing if on one device you have 254 photos of one person and on another 245.
It could be, as you suggested, that they removed the digits to stop people from worrying too much.

I think the algorithm to scan for faces is run differently on every device, and that that leads to different numbers on each device. It's not likely the amount indicator will come back anytime soon until Apple figures a way to standardize the algorithm for every device. It's also a possibility they will introduce syncing of the People album over iCloud.

yeah hopefully they will. I just finished merging them on my iPhone (took me 2 hours and still have to do my iMac ) but not doing that tonight. iPad is already done

But yes i agree and hope they do bring people to work with iCloud
