IMO go with the defender. More protection. The LP is fine around water and I do use it when I jump with my horse as part of what I jump over is a water puddle but other than that and pool time during the summer, I stick with either a Ballistics HC or a Defender case.

I'm on my phone right now and can't look but I recall a YouTube vid or a commercial of some NHL player slap shotting a phone in a particular case and the phone lived. I'm not that daring but if I can remember tomorrow I'll look up which case it was.

My only consternation with the Defender is the claims and reports that the silicon casing gets worn out easily and deforms or loosens up. I like the slim profile of the LP but I also use a Mophie Juice Pack for my 4s, so being able to take the case on and off easily is something to consider as well - which I think the LP is pretty tough to get on/off.

My potential issue with the LP is the reported sloppy screen cover and how it doesn't lay flat against the screen, causing potential sensitivity issues.

I like the Armor case, but it's a bit too bulky for me.

Decisions, decisions....

The lifeproof is not hard to take off at all, my only issue with the case is the proximity sensor malfunction, I am constantly putting the phone on mute with my cheek. I like to hold the phone very close to my face/mouth so people can hear me better as there is a slight degradation of sound with the case on. Otherwise it would be the perfect case.
I have the defender also and the silicone does stretch ever so slightly, but not nearly as much as with the 4s version. When I first got the case the silicone was so tough to get off, but now it has loosened and much easier to get off but by no means "saggy".
I love the defender also- no sound issues, screen protector works great also. It is just a little to bulky and cut outs are rather large to let dust in.
Also nice that is comes with a holster, which I use.
The other case I have my eye on is the Ballistic every1
