I’m not...I actually only have 78 apps and that includes the native apple stock apps.

It’s probably high because I do file a lot of emails. I have to clean them out because there are some saved from the early 00’s lol.

One thing that I found when looking is the ability to remove large attachments from messages. If you're on any message lists, there can be all sorts of things shared... photos, memes, and videos, all of which take up a lot of space!

This is part of my other storage as well. I have a few iMessage groups that we share photos, vids and things of that sort regarding family.

Read the description of other storage a couple of posts up. Attachments in messages are listed as space in the Message app (which you'll see a total for that on your phone), not in other storage.

Apple should make a file manager for the other storage. There’s probably some junk in there. My phone has 256GBs so it isn’t a big deal but I don’t like mystery files.

I’m so used to the old way that “other” is all extra stuff that Apple never used to specify lol and now they separate it.

Why?

It’s comprised of system files, caches, Siri voices, logs, updates, etc. Some may come from app use. But how many apps you have doesn't have much to do with it. I have 231 apps, and mine is currently at 6.5 gb.
