OEM cable stopped working

Hi! =)

Until yesterday, my charging cable was working fine. But since this morning, every single time I plug it, I get this:

Would the cable suddenly become defective?

(I get this message no matter if I connect it in the wall plug or powered-USB hub).

Yes, it is possible. I took the power plant (wall plug) for my 5s to a Apple store because it stopped working and they switch it out with no problem.
