Numeric WiFi indicator not showing on iPhone 4

Bought my iPhone 4 and restored it from my jailbroken 3G. From the get-go I would sometimes get numeric WiFi strength, and sometimes only the symbol. I re-restored the phone and set it up as new, and now I *never* get the numeric strength, only the symbol.

Not a huge deal by any means, but does anyone know what might be causing this? I read about restoring from a jailbroken 3G causing issues, so I did the fresh restore and that seemed to make it worse...

It was b/c of a setting you had on your jailbroken device that had modified one of the os settings. The restore from backup put this setting back onto your iPhone 4. You should NEVER see numeric strength indicator, only the symbol.

Oh wow, so iOS 4 is NOT supposed to show numeric WiFi strength? I thought it was. I guess that would explain why it hasn't shown the numeric strength anymore after I restored as new...
