Notes App crashing after ios 10 upgrade.

Accidentally found a fix, too! I wanted to add a line to a Note I had, so I went to the iCloud website on my computer. I edited it there. Then, when I opened my Notes app on the iPhone, it stopped crashing!

Try: accessing your notes through iCloud.com.

This worked for me, many thanks

Ok, I found the fix!

- Under Settings, > iCloud I turned off my link to notes. It then deleted all of the notes from my phone (scarry). I then turned back on the link to Notes.
- When opening Notes, it re-downloaded all my notes. It seems that something got corrupted and was crashing the sync/app.

I'm glad this was an easy fix... but it did take me a while to think of it.

Thanks for your message in fixing my notes. I was panicking there for a moment after install the new upgrade 10. On my MacBook and work iphone, I downloaded this on Thursday (2 days ago) and had no problem. On my personal iphone, which I did today this problem with the notes appeared. Strange???? Thanks again for your help and simple clarification. :

No big deal. No need to delete anything. Just go to ICloud in settings, disable and re enable notes. It will ask if ok to delete notes data on phone. No problem. It repopulates anyway and crash is solved.

Upgraded my iPhone 6s+ yesterday (10.0.1). My Notes App crashes right as it opens. Really it is right when it tries to syncs to icloud... then crashes. If I put the phone in airplane mode, then I can access my notes.

Here is what I've done already to try and fix/troubleshoot the issue:
1. I've turned my phone off and on several times with no positive results.
2. A note made using icloud via the web, does sync to the phone.
3. A note made on the phone (while in airplane mode) does not sync to icloud.
4. I synced the phone with iTunes.

Or you just delete the notes app and then reinstall it. That worked for me.

One other tip .
Before I switched off Notes in my
iCloud settings , I did one other thing
to eliminate the risk of losing my notes :

In the Notes app : I selected all of my
notes in the "Notes in iCloud" folder
and moved them to the "Notes in
iPhone folder " . The notes in the
" Notes in iPhone folder " are not
disturbed by iCloud activity .
