Not accepting reset password on new replacemnt ipad. Cant get to backed up data.Apple tech set up

Just spent 2hrs in Apple store, random hardware problem, screen freezing, turning itself off and on, and wouldn't accept icloud/itunes password. Genius tech instore backed up data to icloud reset password, got new ipad. Told to go home put in new password for wifi and reload backup. New ipad won't recognise password! Can't get data at all so worse off than when I went in to store. Pleas help had to wait nearly 2 wks for this appt.

You didn't try it before leaving the Apple Store?

Did you try another wifi, for example from your neighbors or even personal hotspot from your phone?? Did you try resetting the iPad ? Did you try a restore?
