Noob AT&T + iPhone question

Im thinking (most likely) making the switch from Sprint to ATT to pick up the new iPhone. I was checking out the plans and I noticed when I tried to add the iPhone 2g service to my plan, it removed the phone insurance from my package. Whats the deal here? I dont think I want to take on a new device without insurance on it. Is it because apple has the coverage?

AT&T offers different insurance for the iPhone than the standard phone insurance and that is probably why it was removed from your cart.
