No location based reminders with Siri?

I've checked the Apple website as well and it states that Siri does location based reminders. However, if I set a reminder like "remind me to take out the trash when I get home" Siri tells me location based reminders are not supported on this device. I have a 3rd gen iPad with wi-fi and wireless. So from what I've read I SHOULD have location based reminders. Any input?
