After following through with their decision to rollback changes made to the game to accommodate those affected by the pandemic, the Pokémon GO community has sent an open letter, citing accessibility issues.

It wasn’t about game changes, it’s about Niantic not listening to the players unless there is stand. Niantic does not care about the players until the players push back. In this case, many top creators will leave the game, as well as going free to play in the meantime while avoiding sponsored items. Many players are doing the same. Reverting the distance to interact with PokeStops and Gyms was just the last straw. It made the game more enjoyable, safer, and more accessible for everyone, especially those who can’t move around freely. Niantic’s next move will likely decide the future of Pokémon Go.
