I left blackberry for the iPhone 4, and I'm overall happy with my new iPhone. Only thing I miss about blackberry is the volume of the ringer and email tones. I just some questions I'm sure are pretty stupid, but nonetheless I don't know the answer to them. LOL, so here they are:

-If your iphone is using wifi, does it still count toward your data plan?

-Is there anyway to make your email tone louder or change it (phone ringer being louder would be great too, but it doesnt bother me too much)?

-Any must have apps?

Thanks so much in advance

It doesn't count towards your data plan if you are connecting to a free Wi-Fi connection such as your home Internet network. I don't have my iphone with me at the moment but if you go to settings and some there you can adjust how loud the ringer should be.

Ringer volume:

There are 3 buttons on the left side of your device.

Top button is MUTE. Move it down to expose the red dot and ringer is turned off.

Below that are the volume up and volume down buttons.

Email Tone:

Go to ...Settings, Sounds.

WiFi:

Data sent and rcvd. over WiFi does NOT count towards your cellular data plan.

Besides the basic volume controls, there are no real legit ways to improve the ringer/notification volumes...there are some apps that claim volume enhancements, but in my experience, they are all rubbish...

I do miss the custom notifications on a BlackBerry...unfortunately, there is no way of raising or changing the received e-mail sound.

i used a few different sound packages on my JailBroken 3G and they have mail send a receive tones in them, when the 4.1 JB comes out it may be an option for you to change stuff that way if you so desire
