I updated mine this morning. Thanks for the heads up.

Interesting side note ... I seem to remember other phones automatically rebooting to load the new version. I wonder why the iPhone doesn't do this.

Thanks for the heads up. Now up to date with the rest of you hear. The few speed tests I have done since the update show significant improvement in my 3G speeds. Also, didn't need to reboot here.

I'm ignorant of what this means for the user. Thanks.

The PRL in the phone is Preferred Roaming List - it's a database of system IDs the phone uses to know which towers to use and where - in a preferred order. So - when you are in an area where your carrier does not offer native service, it defines for the phone what towers it's able to use. And in some circumstances, the PRL can allow "in market roaming" where even in your home area, your phone might prefer another company's tower even where native service is available. Roaming agreements between companies can change fairly regularly - thus updates are required - doing the process to update regularly isn't a bad idea... certainly a good idea to do before leaving home on an extended trip/vacation. I'll update about every 6 weeks or so - or, when I see a discussion like this, and find my PRL is outdated.

YEs!!!

Whoot whoot!!!! Didn't know what it was before though. LMAO..forgot to check...

Time to upgrade your PRL (Preferred Roaming List) for your iPhone! The PRL is what ViPs (and all Verizon phones use) to choose the systems to connect to. It can enhance battery life and connectivity, especially while traveling.

To update, dial *228 and choose option 2.

To check your PRL, dial *#5005*4357#

I'm up to 52257 woot!!
