new itouch cannot imessage

My daughters previous ipod broke. i bought her a new ipod and am trying to set up imessage. it says that i cannot because her email is already being used. any suggestions??

Are you trying to use her iCloud address or another address, and is the iCloud address the one set up in Settings?

All you should have to do is go to Settings-Messages and then tuen ON iMessage. It should ask for the Apple ID.

Is the email address in use as the AppleID that's used on other devices?
