Ok, so if I understand this correctly, my iphone (or other ios device) will automatically upload every picture I take to icloud photos and keep them organized. Great. However, I would like to also upload photos that I took in the past and imported into iphot on my mac. These photos are no longer on my iphone. How can I get them from iphoto on my mac to icloud photos?

Unless you have iPhoto or something that has access to the iCloud Photo Library, you will probably have to manually transfer the photos to your i-Device and then have them upload to iCloud. I just logged in to the iCloud website and saw the new iCloud Photos section, and when I select it, I can see all of my photos via Moments or via Album mode. I can even download photos, but I did not see a way to directly upload photos to that particular section.

I am using iphoto on my mac. But I don't see any way to upload to the new icloud photos. When I try to put pictures in icloud using iphoto, it only allows me to put them into my photstream, which if I am not mistaken is the 1000 pictures/30days thing. That's not what I am looking for. I tried it anyway, and it didn't work.
