New Features Added to TiPb (Updated: 10/6/2011)

Greetings, iPhone Nation!

Those of you who have been around a while may have noticed a few updates to the forum today:

Message Editor:

• Smiles moved to bottom (smilies to be updated soon)
• New options for highlighting, strikethrough, wrapping text around images, and wrapping a box around text.

Example of box:

See what I mean?

• The Quick Reply editor includes more functionality from the Advanced Reply editor
• The overall look of the editor has been updated, including icons and colors.
  
• Added the ability to embed YouTube video's.

You will need to paste the video id in between the YouTube tags. For example:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODKCiND3He0&hd=1 would look like this:

[YOUTUBEHD]ODKCiND3He0[/YOUTUBEHD]

Search:

• Checkbox to search titles only
• Search for your threads & posts.
• Find unanswered threads.

User Control Panel:

• 2 line private message preview.
• Reply to all (on CC'd messages)
• New icons for the left side navigation panel.
• Panel reordered - PM menu aligns with Private Messages. Subscribed Threads now aligns with Subscribed Threads.

Posts:

• Quoted images will now display as a link: Click to view quoted image.
• Large images resized to 640x480 with the option to click to view the full size image.

Other:

Various updates to fix font issues and overlaps in borders/text.

I will add updates to this thread as more changes are made. I hope you like what you see, but if you notice any weird issues, feel free to report them here.

• You can now add you Google +, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube info: http://forums.tipb.com/profile.php?do=editprofile
  
• Once you add this information, they will show up as clickable buttons, just like you see in my post.
  
• You can also add "My Next Device" if you want that information to show up with the rest of your info.

I love the social network buttons, I think I saw those on AndroidCentral (maybe?) the other day and was thinking that was a nice addition.

So far the only thing I'm not happy about is there's no way to Quick Post. Several versions back, after writing a topic reply you could hit CTRL-S (IIRC). Either that's no longer an option or it just doesn't work on Mac/Chrome. So I've gotten used to writing a reply, tab, enter. Now if I tab, enter after replying it opens up the attachments window...unless I've quoted text.

I'd really like a consistant quick post option.

On Chrome right now and loving the new features. But I do notice that I can't see Alli's Skype links in the post above me. Hovering over the broken image links gives me text about her Skype link but the actual link listed is just to this thread. Or maybe you just entered that wrong in your profile, Alli?

EDIT: As soon as I hit enter, they showed up in the post.

Massie, thanks for pointing that out. I see Ali has 2 skype links as well, which shouldn't be the case. I must have duplicated that line of code and will fix it.

Great additions to the forums. Is anyone else having problems with the mobile theme for the forums? I'm not sure when it stopped working for me, but it doesn't anymore . I'm on an iPhone 4 running iOS 5.

I tried unsuccessfully to add a link to my YouTube channel. Then I noticed many of the links to other's YouTube channels aren't working - leading to a 404 Not Found page. Is this a YouTube issue or Tipb issue?
