Hey guys I'm back to using my iPhone 5c, I did use it for almost two years since February 2014 when I got it and it served me well then I switched to a blackberry 9900 that lasted seven months and I am awaiting a new keypad.

I just had a new battery installed in the 5C this week because it was pretty exhausted and dying around 20% charge left. The phone is still very fast.

I got a Chinese generic battery because no Apple logo ones were available at this time. They said that basically it's the same thing because even Apple batteries are made in China but then I read something like with the walls of the plastic on the battery may not be as thick and not up to Apple standards, etc.

Has anyone here changed the battery in their 5C and is this a concern for you if it is a non-Apple battery?ImageUploadedByiMore Forums1467782756.601939.jpg

Here is a pic of my 5C the day I got it

Yes I would be a little concerned. It's always best to use OEM parts and authorized repair. That being said you might be fine, but who knows.

I trust the new battery now. It does get pretty warm when charging but it cools down at around 80-100% full so the circuit for cut off is good.
