Need help with apple tv

I bought apple tv yesterday, I got it hooked up and connected to the internet, I have turned on home sharing on my ipad but when I try to add the computer on apple tv and sign in, I get an error message saying that my Apple ID couldn't be found or my password is incorrect.

I have reset my password, and it works fine to sign in on the ipad, just not apple tv.

Any ideas?

perhaps you need to add the @Yahoo.com or @Hotmail.com at the end of your AppleID... mine only works with that attached. Sometime Apple Device Shortens it

HomeShare needs to be enabled in the iTunes library on computer - under the same AppleID as you're using on iDevices.

Thanks, I tried both; added the @yahoo.com to each device and turned on home sharing on the computer...still no luck!
