Hi all. This is my first post and I require some assistance in choosing the right iMac replacement for my needs and I'm hoping your suggestions and advice will help steer me in the right direction. I should point out that I am not very computer literate.
I currently have a 2010 iMac with an i3 and have decided that I will definitely go with a 27" 5K version with 16GB of RAM, but am uncertain about whether to go with a 3.4GHz i5 with 4GB of video memory or go all out and buy a 4.2 GHz i7 with 8GB of video memory instead.
I will be using the computer primarily for iTunes, amateur music recording/production (Logic Pro X) and some amateur photo editing. I have thought of possible video editing in the future but I'm not sure if I would get too serious about it, if all all. Therefore I'm not sure I really need the 8GB of video memory. It may be a waste. Lastly, I am hoping to get another 8 years out of this computer as well (fingers crossed).
Any advice would be greatly welcomed and appreciated!
Thanks,
Rob
