I am brand new to Apple. What is "native" ?

Native refers to apps that are loaded onto the Watch itself instead of the phone. Apps on the phone that send the results to the Watch are generally slower than when they're on the Watch.

I think Apple decreed that at some point all apps would have to reside on the Watch, in an effort to speed up the Watch. Native apps and wOS3 make for a very pleasant experience.
