My son bent his hand-me-down iPhone 5 (Apple Care question)

Last night, my son couldn't get the down volume to work. I looked at his phone and it is bent just on the one side. My daughter told me this morning that he had gotten angry playing a game earlier and that is more than likely when it happened (yep, 12-year-old still in Terrible Two's occasionally). We do have Apple Care from when it was my husband's phone, which expires 12/23----my son just uses it now basically as an iPod.

Is it worth taking to the nearest Apple store to see if they will fix it under Apple Care? (I THINK it would be $49 for us to pay if they cover it under Apple Care)

It won't hurt to try, the worst they can do is say no.

I do mean AppleCare+. Thanks for the answers. Sounds like a trip to the Apple Store is in the cards before it expires on 12/23....I wish the nearest store was closer than 100 miles away.....ugh....but worth it to get it fixed!
