My phone turned off and does not turn back on

My iPhone 5C randomly turned off this morning and does not want to turn back on. I have it charging, thinking it might be the battery pack, but it's not charging either. What can be wrong with the phone?

I'm not sure. Press and hold both the power and home buttons until you see the  logo. (No more than 10 seconds). Afterwards, let the phone boot to the home screen and then see if it'll charge like it is suppose to.
