If Find my Phone is enabled, go to iCloud.com and track it. Remote wipe if you have given up trying to find it.

If not, you are out of luck.

My 4s got stolen right at the end of september, so I feel your pain. The thief turned my location svces off quickly and find my iPhone is useless for recovery purposes at that point. You can remotely wipe the phone though.

Sad part is anyone who knows apple products knows how to wipe a device without it turning on completely I wish there was a way to track it hard coded into the software per the device ID and when you sell it you have to transfer owner ship for the device ID

yeah :(
the police told us that there were a lot of people being targeted for their gadgets :(

canada now gas a national stolen phone database, itd be good if there was a worldwide one so that a stolen phone couldnt be used anywhere

Location services should have a pass code without having a pass code on the whole phone

I was actually on the phone when it was taken. The thief was no dummy so I had apple remote lock it within ten mins. The device was wiped remotely so at least no info was compromised. Thanks for your comment though.

Remote lock code and wipe. Then set it to say on the lock screen: this phone has been reported stolen.

Edit: typo

Won't work if you turn it off pop sim and not connect to wifi ... Given most people are not that smart .. ( wont work if Verizon or sprint 4 or 4s )

Or just turn off use recovery mode and restore not even a pass code will stop that ..

I wish apple had a more secure way to lockdown a phone and basically make it a paper weight for messed up thief's out there

It was confirmed that my info wasn't compromised. The dummy then tried to activate two wks later and that is how they got the phone. It's been disposed of. Set up new apple id on replacement phone (5) and info from old phone is all on new phone. Oh yeah and using Prey app this go round. Hopefully I don't have to worry about this happening again.
