My iPhone locked to my ID, but won't accept my UN & PW. How can I get into my phone?

Iphone locked to my ID, but won't accept my UN & PW

I erased everything off of my iphone and a friend tried to activate it- it showed that it was still linked to my email address...I went into my account online and took it off of my account. Now it is still showing that it is still linked with my email address, but when I put in my email address and password it says it's the incorrect Apple ID.....can someone please tell me what I can do to get into it? I have access to all of the accounts, but there is not an apple store close for me to take it to.

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201351 Follow those directions and use the same AppleID and password you were using on the device.

I have tried signing in and it didn't work...I saw somewhere online to change my password...tried that and it didn't work....tried to call Apple last night and they said I had to pay to speak to someone.....It's really not even worth my paying right at $30.00 to get it fixed to only be able to sell it for about $100.00
