my iphone 6s just went black screen and will not come on. thoughts??

I was looking at text messages and suddenly the phone turned black screen. It will not come back on. I have had it plugged in for about 20 minutes in case it was the battery but still no luck.

My sons 5s just did this exact thing a couple of weeks ago. I plugged it in and checked it about an hour later but still would not turn on. No indication either that it was charging. So I decided to leave it plugged in for 24 hours. Well to my surprise when I checked it, it was working again and has not had any issues since. I suggest doing the same thing. If it does not turn on then, try different cables and chargers to eliminate them as part of the problem. If you still get no results it may be time to make an appointment and have it looked at.

Let it sit for awhile plugged in see if that works. If their is no physical damage take it to Apple and have their great staff check it out. Could be anything from a loose battery connector, or a loose display connector. Love to help but these issues are hard to diagnose without the phone. Shoot try and boot the phone into recovery mode and see if that does anything.

I've not noticed this on my iPhone, but have on my iPad, which, admittedly is old. My thought is this may happen because I have "Automatic App Updates" enabled and that there could be apps updating in the background. I've learned just to wait a while, and go back and check, and sure enough, it works just fine. It's very unnerving, and I do get anxious.

I don't know if this is the same issue you guys are having but wanted to share, just in case!
