My iPhone 5c turns off and says dead battery

my phone shuts off at about 50% whenever I'm outside...but not in extreme temps. I mean like, I'll be using it in 65-75 degree weather and all of a sudden it says the battery needs charged

Tomorrow, iOS 9 will officially be released to the general public. Upgrade and set up your devices as new and then see if the device still "shuts off at about 50%". If it doesn't, great. If it does, make a Genius Bar appointment with the nearest Apple Store and have them diagnose the problem for you.

don't have a Genius Bar anywhere within hours of me...what else can I do?
