My iPhone 3gs cannot start with a black screen.

I have an iPhone 3gs. And i am upgrading my iPhone 3gs. But it cannot turn on. I have tried to plug my iPhone back into my computer. I hope i can start it by this way. But it is still black. Help with my iPhone.
