My Apple Pencil bit the dust

After 9 months my Apple Pencil has had a melt down, literally. I plugged it in today and when I went to pick it up it was too hot to touch. After it cooled down it wouldn't connect or register at all.
I have to say Apple were great and replaced it straight away but I'm so glad I checked it when I did because I don't know how much hotter it would have got.

Was it plugged in via your iPad Pro or wall socket? Anyway, I’m glad you weren’t injured and that Apple replaced it for you. Thanks for sharing this experience with us....

It was plugged in with the official Wall charger and cable that came with my iPad Pro.
