Muted notifications for text conversation

I have a group text conversation on my iPhone that I have muted but I still get them coming through on my watch. Does anyone know if there is a way to mute it on the watch also ? I have messages set to mirror my phone.

I need to test that and see if I get the same results.

Okay, if I mute the group conversation, I don't get a notification on my watch or phone. However, I still get notifications on my iMac and iPad.

Also, if I unmute the conversation, I get notified on the watch (and phone) again.
