Music stops when Google app is loaded on iphone 3gs

I run iOS4 on an iPhone 3GS.

I'll be playing a song from the iPod, switch over to the mobile Google app and the music falls silent. Why?

It stops the music because the app is a voice recognition app. It can't perform what it's meant to do if the music is running. You can turn off the voice recognition services in the settings of the app.
