More iPad nuud...ity

On the back of my iPad nuud, there are four little locks (plastic pieces) that you can pull out, and when you do....each lets another tiny plastic piece free. What the heck is this for?

And the little lever thing above the volume control, what is that little gizmo for?

I think I have more moving parts on the case than the iPad.

Did it come with any documentation that might explain what these things are and how they are supposed to function?

I believe it's for a shoulder strap.
