MobileMe/iCloud yearly fee

Hi,

A couple of years ago I purchased my Mobile Me account, it still cost's me $102 a year, my friend told me today that he signed up for an iCloud account and it was free. If iCloud is free why am I still paying for my account?

You are not. You cannot actually pay any longer. More info can be found on Apples website. Mobile Me disappears in June...

Correct. Your account will expire and no further Apple tax.

Also, part of the deal for previous MobileMe users was you got extra storage (I think I have 20GB extra) through June (no matter when your MobileMe subscription expired).

Yes, I have the extra 20 Gigs, now we just need functionality comparable to dropbox for iCloud and then my extra storage will truly be worth it.
