Mobile network loosing connection randomly on locked screen?

Okay so this has been randomly happening more often every day, I'm not always on mobile data on my work or home for example, but sometimes when i try to open web whatsapp, because it is more comfortable for me since i work on a computer all day long(programmer), when I'm on mobile data it will prompt the message your phone isn't connected, however if i unlock my phone i can see my phone having 4g connection, weird thing is that i need to open whatsapp for the message to go away and the web whatsapp to work.
this is really anoying because i need to be unlocking the phone every time I'm on mobile data to get this to work and there are some networks on my school that are only accessible via MAC address so just the computer can connect to them, anyone has ever experienced the same, any hint on how to solve it?

Exact the same here, but I already had that problem on iOS 12.x.x (Can't recall exactly when it started).
I encouter this problem on Wi-Fi too. Maybe it's a WhatsApp bug instead of an iOS bug?
I never was able to fix it. Sorry.

Still on 5 se, that might be important.
