Missing root folder iCloud Drive

Here is a head-scratcher.... my partner's iCloud Drive folder on her iPhone (and also reflected on iCoulddotcom) is missing the "default" Pages folder for her Pages documents. Not sure if she deleted it accidentally (no evidence of that) but despite uninstalling and reinstalling Pages to her device this "root" folder on iCloud Drive is not recreated. Consequence of not having this folder is that saving any Pages documents from, for example, email attachments, will be deposited in the root directory of iCloud Drive and not placed conveniently in a "Pages" folder. Creating a new folder on iCloud Drive at iClouddotcom does not fix this - I created a folder and called it "Pages" but the Pages application will still save only to the root directory and not this new folder by default. Besides, there is no Pages "icon" I can add to this folder either.
Ideas??
