Messenger on Ipad

[iMore Question]

When i am using FB Messenger on my iPad Pro (landscape or portrait), as soon as i start to type a grey line pops up and hides what i am typing. Even if i turn off "predictive text" the grey line still pops up. How do i stop this ?
