Messages on watch

After the iOS 8.4 update when receiving messages sometimes I never get a notification on my watch. Other times I'll receive the message but if they are a non iPhone user the message only shows as a notification and will not show in the messaging app after dismissing notification.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Notifications on my apple watch seem to affected by going in my car which automatically links to my iPhone by bluetooth. Whenever I get out of the car, notifications change and always beep on my phone first then on the watch 10 seconds later. To fix it I go to settings, notifications, disable messages notifications on iPhone, then put message notifications back on. It works every time (but it's pretty annoying). I've ended up turning off bluetooth in the car now. It's a Nissan Qashqai that messes it up.

Yea just looked in community on apple.com and saw that a few people were having issues not receiving notifications for messaging or just not receiving the message at all on there watch

I've been having problems where the iPhone will buzz and then the Watch will after. I also have had the problem occasionally where I won't get notifications on my watch at all.

That's one of the problems I had before. I would receive the message on my phone first then 5-10 seconds later I would get it on the watch

It's annoying. That's what my Pebble Watch did and I really disliked that. The good thing is, my Apple Watch hasn't done that in awhile. I do hope that Apple releases a 1.1 or a 1.0.2 update for the watch soon to fix some of these things people are experiencing.

for some reason i have been getting notifications on my watch then my phone will get it also . def something going on ..

I can only 'assume' it's an issue with iOS 8.4 because I'm not experiencing anything like that while running iOS 9 beta 2 nor did I experience it with iOS 8.3. Furthermore, I continue to get notifications on my Watch when my iPhone is connected to my car via Bluetooth. By the way, iOS 8.4 has never been installed on my iPhone.

Thanks for the tip about toggling message notifications on the phone.

My phone would start notifying me about messages about 30 seconds before the watch did after iOS 8.4 (all other notifications perform normally). I haven't figured out exactly when it does it yet but I also pair my phone with my car so I'll keep an eye on that.

Messed about with all sorts of settings and I really can't be bothered to re-pair the phone and watch but this is the first change that's actually worked for me.

Yea I wiped my phone right twice this morning and reset my watch and now it's all working pretty good

Thank god I am not the only one having this issue.. Its really annoying.. I will get the message on my iPhone then watch like 15 - 30 seconds later, It was working perfect when I did the initial pairing then later that day or next it started with the delay.. I am using 8.4 on phone.. So hopefully they will repair this issue in the software...
