MBP 2015 13 inch
- Intel i5 2.7ghz turbo boost 3.1ghz or Intel i5 2.9ghz turbo boost 3.3ghz ?
- 8GB ram
- 512GB flash storage

OR

MBP 2016 13 inch w/o touchbar
-Intel i5 2.0ghz turbo boost 3.1ghz
-8GB ram
- 512GB flash storage

Are both 2015 & 2016 using same generation Intel i5? Which is better?
Is RAM a necessary upgrade?

Ps: I will be installing Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Indesign. Also, perhaps other Adobe softwares in the future.

The 2016 Macbook Pro is using the Skylake processor (about to be replaced) while the 2015 version is using the Broadwell processor (1 generation older). With each generation, there are improvements to efficiency and performance but nothing huge.

There are rumours about Apple refreshing their Macbook Pro line in early June so I would say, if you able to wait a 2 weeks (just to see), then it might be a good idea.

I think 8GB of RAM should be fine, no worries there. 256gb storage would also be fine. (If you wanted to save a couple bucks).

If you are OK, with having USB-C ports, then I would go for the new 2016 model but if you took the 2015 version, it will still perform well enough to meet your needs. You never know, after Apple's refresh, you may find some great deals on the 2016 version. 😃

It depends on if they fixed the keyboard on the new 2016 models. I went through around 5 2016 MacBook pros that all had a really nast keyboard click issue when the computer warmed up. I finally got tired of it and went and got the 15" 2015 MacBook Pro. I am in love with it. It is a great machine. And I really like the older style keyboard over the new style. I guess it is a matter of personal preference though. But I def would make sure that the keyboard issue is fixed before you spend that kind off cash..
