Apple released today macOS 12.6. I'm not sure if this is the release candidate or the final version.
My laptop is not part of the beta program anymore, but all sources indicate that this might be a release candidate.

Hmmm. I doubt it's a release candidate - I believe I read that Ventura is expected around the time that iPadOS 16.1 is released, so probably October, probably when Apple announce its next group of new M2 Apple devices.

One doesn't prevent the other. Apple runs two concurrent beta programs for macOS (and iOS). Also, my Mac is not going to receive macOS Ventura later this year, because they dropped support for it.

Your machine is still in the beta program.

From Apple developer site:
macOS 12.6 RC
Released September 7, 2022
Build21G115

That's the weird part, nowhere does it mention that my device is enrolled the beta program.
I was running the release version of 12.5 until this appeared and installed, and I made sure that I'm not enrolled in the macOS beta program before WWDC.
So, just confusing all around.
