I'm gonna buy a MacBook w retina in a few months and wondering should i buy a case? It's a lose/lose situation here because if I get a case I won't appreciate the beauty of it plus it will hide the  logo (it doesn't light up if you didn't know) but if I go caseless and I even get a tiny scratch on it I will be beyond pissed off, so what should I do??

I know this is an old post but I am waiting on a case for mine. I don't want the beautiful silver getting all scratched up. The case I have ordered has a cut out area for the apple icon so it will show and also light up. Red is my favorite color and will look nice and keep my pro safe and new looking. I am very careful with my gadgets and do use accessories. Having a case on it just gives me peace. I am paying good money for it and a scratch would really disappoint me. I have seen cases on them when out and about and they look nice. I have two cats and they love my gadgets maybe a little too much. Got to protect the Macpro

Whenever I decide to go ahead and actually make the purchase, I'm 100% certain I won't put a case on it..... Should you? Only you can answer that question.

I bought a MacBook yesterday, despite the possibility of a new 2017 release any time now...and of course I got a case for it (as I do with all my devices) mainly for drop protection and to avoid dings and scratches. Also, the cases make it easier to hold on to them!

I just purchased a 2015 13.3 Macbook Pro Retina and I plan on foregoing a case in lieu of a leather sleeve...

I will post photos of the leather sleeve once it arrives.

I don't currently use a case for mine but I have in the past. I had a Speck hard shell that I really liked.

This is really all you need. I've had the keypad protector for a few years now. It's good to have because I have a lot of dogs and the keypad protector does a good job of keeping dust and hair out

My husband had a Thule case for travel but he got the bigger one 15" with carrying strap (because the smaller one that they had at Apple was more like a sleeve) and of course it was a bit too big for the MBP 13" so he ended up using a Jansport Right Pack laptop backpack instead.

I never used a keyboard protector until one came with the case I bought for my new MacBook. I thought it would be a hassle to keep on (it's not!) and I actually like it a lot and I don't even notice it's on there (except for the logo). It has a nice soft cushiony texture and is definitely helping me transition to the new butterfly keys since they don't have as much "bounce" as the MBA.

My current Macbook stays on my desk all day everyday and rarely moves from there. So because the risk of it getting scratched was low, i decided not to purchase a case for it and just enjoy its beauty. However, if you tend t take your laptop with you a lot and its being transported in various bags then i would recommend a case :)

its relatively cheap at $49 for the 'Incase 13" slim sleeve' You can always place the laptop on top of the case while using it to a avoid any scratches underneath the laptop :)

Hope this helps.
