MAC OS update

I am from India. I am using Mac Mini which came Yosemite. I am unable to upgrade the OS to El Capitan let alone Sierra. The slow bandwith coupled with the rather humongous nature of the upgrade has prevented me from experiencing better things that Apple has to offer. Is there any alternative to the downloads, like, for example torrents that make things easier? Is the software available of thumbdrives?

You will need a good bandwith as this is a large file to download. Yes it can be move to a thumbdrive as long as the thumbdrive is properly formatted to accept it. Here is a guide by Apple on how to create a USB installer.
