Mac Mini & sound system

I suppose I could ask around other places, but I'll try here anyway:

I intend on replacing my 2009 Dell Vostro with a new Mac Mini. I purchased a sound system from Dell to go with the computer when I ordered it. I noticed that the Mini's only audio output is for headphones. Does anybody know if that headphone jack output can drive such a sound system? If not (and I suspect it can't), is there a workaround for that?

The audio port is more robust that simply a headphone jack:

I use powered speakers. Works great. No noise. Normal levels.
