Loss of all data.. what's happening, guys??

I

iMore Question

How can I get OS 8 to read my peripherals like the new Epson scanner, my SD cards and my video cameras? Since updating to to Yosemite my world has ended. All my years of movie-making and slideshows have vanished into a vortex in cyber space and probably reside on a planet far beyond Jupiter. What a waste of thousands of dollars from me to fill your coffers so you can be the richest conglomerate on the planet.
Please advise on how I can rectify this situation before I turn to Mr Gates' contribution the the world of technology.

Hyperbole... The only way to truly lose everything is to have never followed Apple's reccomendations and simple, common sense computing to make back-ups of critical data...if you've not done that, anything you lost is on you. Only you, and not any company...

In re: peripherals... If they worked before iOS8, they should still work... I can't think of any reason they wouldn't. If they don't, seek support from the makers of the gear...
