Loosing jailbroken apps when syncing to itunes

hi, i have the iphone 3g using the 2.2.1 FW however everytime i try to sync my iphone it just removes all the jailbroken apps i have downloaded and keeps the ones i have got from the app store. is there any way around this?

before syncing with itunes, select "transfer purchases from iphone" under the file menu. this brings over all your JB apps. once you've done this, you're good to go.
