List of Favorites won't update

I went into my list of Favorite contacts on my iPhone, deleted one individual and added another. In the Watch app I have Favorites set to follow the phone. It has been hours since I made the change and my watch is yet to pick it up. When I hit the side button the old person is still there and the new one is not. I've restarted the Watch and the iPhone multiple times and turned the follow iPhone off and back on and still no luck.

Has anyone else had a problem getting Favorites to sync up?

Maybe it just needs time.

It's been about 38 hours now and still hasn't synced with the phone despite having restarted both the watch and the phone several times.

My bad. Operator error. I was editing my Favorites in the iPhone Phone app rather than in the iPhone Watch app. Once I realized my mistake and corrected it the sync was almost instantaneous.
