Are you using iCloud and Apple Music?

I honestly don't get how it works. I have Apple Music trial but to use my own music I uploaded, I need iTunes Match for $25 per year. Which may or may not work with some of the music I have since the songs may not be found in the iTunes library thus they why get uploaded

Definitely wait if money is no problem for you. If you want to save some money, iPhones get reduced in price after a while at some stores and around the time new iPhone 7 is shipped to  Stores, they get reduced in price there as well.

Very true. iPhone 5 is getting iOS 10 support and it was released in 2012.

If not a concern then just get the 6s Plus now. It's still a great phone and will get updates for the next year or 2.

At least until 2020. I updated a 4S to 9.3.5, not so long ago, and it's a 5 year old phone!

Apple is REALLY GREAT at giving updates to older phones. Unlike the others who give one update and then your left in the dust. Contrary to what is said on other fourms, apple cares about their users. They know that we spend good money on our devices and they thank us by updated older devices for longer periods so they do not become relics. The benefit is two fold. Devices work better for longer and resale value is better.
