Lastest Safest Upgrades on iTunes and O/S

I have:

2nd Generation
3.1.3
Jailbroken iPhone



What is the lastest iTunes version and OS that I can have without causing myself grief?

Do you have the original iPhone? The iPhone 2g? The one that is Gray on the back? Then your on the lasted iOS!

The latest version of iTunes is iTunes 10. It's safe for jailbreakers.

Thanks for the ok on itunes. My phone is black on the back. All this talk about OS 4 is what is confusing me - seems to me I should just hold off??
