So I decided that I want to upgrade to 6.0.GM today. I am jailbroken on 5.1.1. I have updated to iTunes 10.7, so that part is ready to go. I am going to run a backup of course, then restore from iTunes to a clean 5.1.1 install. I'm then going to upgrade from the ipsw file I downloaded from betaio.so. Should be relatively easy, but has anyone done this yet? I know I had issues when I switched from JB 5.0.1 to 5.1.1 (jailbroken). because of a Cydia/iTunes conflict, but I think it was because I went from a jailbreak to a jailbreak...not sure. Got that resolved though.
Before I remove the JB, is there anything I need to know? At least I know that if I screw this up, I can always just revert back to 5.1.1 and re-jailbreak and won't lose it..lol. Should be pretty straightforward, right? If I have the ipsw file, I am guessing I am good to go? I don't have a UDID or a Dev account, and this is the first time I'm attempting a GM install.

I used Tiny Umbrella, so yes. But do I need to really do that even though 5.1.1 is still being signed right now?

no not now but it seems Apple has stopped signing firmware sooner lately. i would say within a week after iOS 6 goes public - easily

Successfully removed jailbreak and now running 6.0. Pretty easy process and no issues. 6.0 is very nice so far! Siri is definitely much more functional!
