I quite like the bezels on my iPad gen 3, not because of the look of the thing but because of the way I find most comfortable to hold it. my fingers support the device, and my thumb sits on the edge of the screen to control its balance, I already find that when tired my thumb can slip on to the screen proper, rather disrupting whatever I'm doing at the time. Therefore,I actually need at least some bezel, but do agree that the top and bottom bezels could be reduced to the size of the edges. As for "outdated" that, in this case is a concept intended to make the gullible want to compete by spending yet another grand for no reason.
