Jailbreaking the 3G iPhone

Hello all. I've successfully jailbroken and unlocked my old 2G iphone. But my question is for the 3G. I have the Pwnage tool, to jailbreak it, but I want to be able to keep all my contacts, texts, etc, and not have everything getting wiped out. Does anyone know how to do this? Please let me know.

well when i jailbreak my phone using the pwhage tool it dsnt erase andy contacts it just adds cydia . you should be fine. but why dont u sync using outlook just to be safe.

What is jailbreaking? I don't understand about "losing info". Doesn't info in your apps like to do lists, expenses, recipes, etc get downloaded/backed up on your computer when you sync? Like if you lost or broke your phone? Sorry for so many basic questions, I've only had my iPhone for a short time and still figuring it all out, and boy is there alot to figure out!

when u plug your iphone and itunes comes up. look for the tab next to summary wich is info. click the info tab and scroll down. contacts , calenders , web browser , and mail accounts are all things you can sync to your computer. i have office outlook 2007 and it works great. syncs everytthing up to the picture you save for your contact.
