Jailbreak and unlock Verizon iPhone?

Will you be able to Jailbreak the Verizon iPhone? Unlock it for Sprint?

Sprint won't allow it on their networks. They only provision sprint branded phones. Maybe another CDMA provider will allow it.

This thread is a moot point as it was announced that Verizon's CDMA iPhone is a multi-year, non-exclusive deal.

There will likely be iPhones on other CDMA carriers at some point.

oh yeah. No question about it. I'll stick with sprint, as I'm already on a 2 year with them. If a iPhone comes to sprint later this year or next, then I may get the iPhone, but I don't think I would want to downsize to a baby screen, and loose "4G" (even if its not true 4G, its still fast)

I agree with your decision. One thing that constantly annoys me about my iPhone 4 is how small the phone is.. I have big hands so its hard for me to type/use the phone in portrait.. The size of the Atrix has me considering an upgrade to that.

Ill be making the switch from blackberry to the verizon iphone and one thing I am interested in is jailbreaking. Is this similar to using hybrid and leaked os; or is it a completely different concept?

I don't really know of any features that I would need to jailbreak for now that MMS is available for the iPhone, is there a jailbreak app for better notifications? That's my only real iOS gripe. Apple has been doing a great job of giving users the features they want with each iOS upgrade.

If you go to cydia.com, there are so many cool apps that I would love to have on my iPhone. For instance, the ability to have haptic feedback when typing on the virtual keyboard, better pop-up SMS apps, ability to customize e-mail/SMS notifications for different callers, etc.
